Area residents graduate from basic military training

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kayla Bair has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

She is the daughter of Rod Bair, of Spokane Valley, and is a 2007 graduate of Mazama High School in Klamath Falls, Ore.

•Two area residents graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Army Pvt. Heather Jackson is the daughter of Ruth Jackson, of Spokane.

Army National Guard Pfc. Brian Philp is the son of Marla Giese, of Spokane Valley.

•Army Pvt. Breeanna Renner graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School in Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

She is the daughter of John Byron, of Deer Park, and Reanee Krumm, of Cheney, and graduated from Cheney High School in 2007.

•Two area residents were awarded Presidential Scholarships for $2,000 from Eastern Washington University for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Monica Anderson is a student at North Central High School and is the daughter of Pete and Karen Anderson, of Spokane.

Alicia Knowles is the daughter of Jerry and Angela Knowles, of Spokane, and is a student at University High School.

•Spokane students were recently recognized on the winter quarter honor roll at ITT Technical Institute.
