Brewers 3, Reds 2 (10): At Milwaukee, Rickie Weeks singled home the winning run off David Weathers in the 10th inning and the Brewers beat Cincinnati. The Reds tied the game in the ninth with two outs and two strikes when Corey Patterson homered off Brewers closer Eric Gagne. Gagne has blown two of his three save opportunities this season.

Cardinals 5, Astros 3: At Houston, Troy Glaus hit a two-run double in the eighth inning to propel St. Louis past the Astros. Anthony Reyes (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings of one-hit ball to get the win and Jason Isringhausen worked a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Phillies 5, Mets 2: At New York, Jamie Moyer pitched six effective innings, Jayson Werth hit a tiebreaking single and Philadelphia spoiled the Mets’ final home opener at Shea Stadium. Carlos Delgado hit his first home run of the season for the Mets, but also made a costly error.

Rockies 4, Braves 3: At Denver, right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez overcame a shaky start and Matt Holliday hit two run-scoring singles as Colorado nipped Atlanta. Each of the Braves’ five losses have come by one run.

Diamondbacks 10, Dodgers 5: At Phoenix, Doug Davis, pitching two days before his scheduled surgery for thyroid cancer, allowed two runs in six innings, and Arizona topped Los Angeles for its fifth straight victory.

Giants 3, Padres 2 (11): At San Francisco, Bengie Molina hit his second homer of the game with one out in the 11th inning off Cla Meredith, sending the Giants past San Diego.
