For Culinary students, well done

I f you can do it without a shudder, try to remember your final exams. Remember that Trig test? What about the philosophy course or the calculus exam that brought you to your knees?

Well, compared to what the students at the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy have to deal with, that all sounds like a piece of cake.

Graduating students regularly have to showcase their skills. At Presidential lunches, wine dinners and the annual Community Colleges Foundation Wine and Gourmet Gala, students plan, prepare and serve gourmet meals to faculty, staff and the public. And they do it with style.

Recently, at the second annual Community Colleges Wine and Gourmet Gala, held at, and assisted by chefs from, Spencer’s Restaurant at the DoubleTree Hotel, guests sipped fine wine, with commentary by the winemakers of Leonetti Cellars, and enjoyed a meal prepared to perfection.

The CCF gala was good food served up for a good cause.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the foundation’s Emerging Needs Endowment which assists Spokane Community College Culinary Academy students and students and programs at Community Colleges of Spokane.

And that’s a good thing no matter how you slice it.
