Tyler Druffel’s three hits and three RBIs Saturday led visiting Pullman over Colville (7-3, 5-3) 8-4 in the opening game of a doubleheader and kept them undefeated with four wins, including two Great Northern league victories. Druffel also pitched a complete game, struck out eight and only walked one. Travis Cooper contributed three hits for Pullman. In the second game, Pullman survived a two-run seventh inning from Colville and prevailed 3-2. The Indians had a runner on second base with two outs, but a strikeout ended the game. Druffel starred again for Pullman and had two hits and an RBI. … Clarkston (2-4, 2-2) needed nine innings to defeat host Medical Lake (5-3, 5-2) in the first game of a doubleheader. ML scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the tie. Jaron Jenkins doubled in two runs to account for three of Clarkston’s runs in the ninth. Medical Lake won the second game 12-11 as Zack Worl hit a grand slam in the fifth inning. Kyle Fox was 3 for 4 with an RBI for Clarkston. … Drew Ableman was 4 for 4 with a double and two triples to lead Cheney (7-1, 4-1) to a 13-0 win over host Deer Park (1-8, 1-7) in the first game of a doubleheader. Rick Heuschkil pitched a complete-game one-hitter and lost his bid at a no-hitter when Deer Park’s Cory Knudsvig singled with two outs in the fifth inning. Anthony Christianson guided Cheney to a 7-3 victory in the second game, going the distance and recording four strikeouts while notching a 2-for-3 day at the plate. DP’s Tanner Knudtson struggled from the mound and allowed five earned runs, but hit a home run in the fourth inning. … Andy Vennum threw a complete-game five-inning no-hitter and West Valley (6-1, 4-0) sailed past host Riverside (0-10, 0-8) 22-0 in the first game of a doubleheader. He also had four hits, and Drew Clausen, Bryan Peterson and Drew Hauschild each contributed three. In the second game, Peterson had two hits, including a home run, and West Valley beat Riverside 16-2. Jeremy Fernandez and David Hauschild each had two hits for West Valley.

•The Lewiston Bengals (10-0, 6-0) remained undefeated atop Inland Empire League standings with a pair of victories over the visiting Lake City Timberwolves (6-2, 2-2). In the opener, Matt Blankenship collected three hits, including two doubles, Tom Kerr homered and Lewiston downed the Timberwolves 10-6. Lake City’s Trent Bridges added a home run and a single. Lewiston needed an extra frame in the second game to outlast Lake City 4-3. Brett Wilson pitched a complete game and earned the win, and Tobin Broesch added two hits.

•Greg Taggart struck out nine, did not allow an earned run and pitched a one-hitter as host Bonners Ferry (6-2, 3-0) dropped Kellogg (1-5, 0-2) 4-1 in the first game of a Intermountain League doubleheader. Taggart, Ryan Merrifield and Kyle Nakagawa each had an RBI in a crucial three-run fifth inning that put Bonners Ferry up 4-0. Bonners Ferry’s Jake Watt was 2 for 2 with a double and five RBIs to lead his team over Kellogg 13-1 in the second game. He excelled from the mound, fanning three in a two-hit effort. Teammate Connor Herdt was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs. … Elsewhere, Timberlake’s (2-4, 1-1) Marshall Barnhouse had a two-run single that was part of a four-run sixth inning that helped his team defeat host Priest River (2-3, 2-2) 9-6 in the first game of a doubleheader. Priest River had a high-scoring inning of its own, reeling off five runs in the fourth inning thanks to a couple of two-run singles from Zack Miller and Brandon Endicott. Priest River rebounded in the second game of the doubleheader as Brian Nelson threw a complete game and struck out 18. Priest River took advantage of six walks to score seven runs in the first inning. Miller’s triple in the opening frame scored three and Tanner Rabidue added a two-run single.

Lake City’s (8-3, 4-1) Lila Work had seven strikeouts to lead her team over host Lewiston (8-3, 4-1) 6-0 in the first game of an Inland Empire League doubleheader. Her complete-game one-hit shutout helped keep Lake City two games ahead of Post Falls in league standings. Brittani Waide hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and Janey Ortega added a 3-for-4 performance with a run scored. Lewiston fell to Lake City 4-2 in the second game as Jessica Ross had a triple, a run and an RBI and Justine Ezzell was 2 for 3 with a double in the win. … Bridget Lowe struck out seven and visiting Moscow (4-6, 3-4) beat Sandpoint (0-10, 0-4) 8-2 in the first game of a doubleheader. Sandpoint committed eight errors and Moscow capitalized, scoring four runs in the first inning off of as many errors. Lowe delivered another strong performance in the second game, struck out six and scattered four hits over six shutout innings as Moscow won 11-0. Gentry Beck had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs.

Riley Swanson gave up two runs on three hits and struck out 10 in a complete game as host Clarkston (4-4, 3-3) defeated Medical Lake (1-5, 1-2) 7-2 in the first game of a Great Northern League doubleheader. Swanson helped her cause by knocking in two runs on a double in the third inning. Swanson pitched another complete game in the latter half of the doubleheader, striking out six in the 11-1 Colville victory. She also had three RBIs on two hits. … Shayd Urhausen’s 4-for-4 performance included two RBIs and helped Colville (11-1, 8-0) to a 10-0 win over host Pullman (6-4, 3-3) in the first game of a doubleheader. Makayla Carr had eight strikeouts and no walks in the complete-game shutout for Colville, which remains atop the league standings. Urhausen had another solid performance in the second game with two hits and an RBI as Colville downed Pullman 8-1. Emilee Lepp hit a home run and had two RBIs. Alison Holst scattered five hits and gave up one run in six innings. … Casey Alderman threw a one-hitter for host Cheney (5-5, 2-2) as it defeated Deer Park (0-6, 0-5) 12-1 in the first game of a doubleheader. Allison Benner struck out eight in the second game, and Cheney downed Deer Park 11-4.

Anastasia Graham was 3 for 4 with a triple and visiting Timberlake (6-4, 4-0) cruised to a 17-6 win over Priest River (0-9, 0-5) in the first game of an Intermountain League doubleheader. Chelsea Linton was 2 for 3 with a double for Priest River. Tasha Palmer hit a solo home run in the second game and Timberlake rolled Priest River 12-2. Afton Allred, Megan Hill and Halee Edelblute each tripled in the victory. … Elsewhere, Kellogg (6-1, 4-1) erupted for seven runs in the third inning and dumped host Bonners Ferry (0-2, 0-2) 17-3 in the first game of a road doubleheader. Codi James had two RBIs and three runs and Chrissy Turbak added three RBIs and three runs. Marisa Bush had a triple and three RBIs in the second game to help beat Bonners Ferry 14-2. Michaela Stewart had 10 strikeouts and allowed one hit in six innings of work.

Track

The Lake City boys beat 16 schools to win the Rasmussen Invite and the West Valley girls took top honors by bettering 14 teams. WV’s Melissa Mauro claimed wins in the 100 meters, 300 hurdles, high jump and was a member of the winning 1,600 relay team. John Coyle and Cody Helbling went 1-2 in the 1,600 to guide Lake City to victory. … Freeman’s Marc Soelberg won the pole vault and 300 hurdles with marks of 12 foot, 6 inches and 42.24 seconds, respectively, at the Interstate Rivals Invitational held at Central Valley. Nick Puckett of Timberlake earned wins in the 100, 200 and ran a 49.49 400 for victory. On the girls’ side, Lakeland’s Kristine Leonard and Latecia Howell won the triple jump and long jump. Timberlake won the boys title and Central Valley the girls.

Boys soccer

John Daniels scored on a through-ball from Chris Schweikhart with 8 minutes remaining to give host Medical Lake (5-3, 5-3) a 1-0 victory over West Valley (6-4, 5-3) in Great Northern League play. … Mitch Weller had two goals and two assists to lead Cheney past host Colville 5-2. Cheney (10-1, 9-1) stayed atop the GNL with the victory while Colville (0-7) is still looking for their first win. Colville’s goals came on Dustin Thomas and Jordan Anderson’s penalty kicks.
