St. Maries’ Matt Corsi threw a complete-game one-hitter on the road to upset league-leader Bonners Ferry 4-0 in Intermountain League play on Tuesday. With the win, St. Maries (7-3, 2-1) closed Bonners Ferry’s (6-3, 3-1) IML advantage to one game. Corsi, who threw 12 strikeouts, lost his bid at a no-hitter in the fourth inning when BF’s Greg Taggart hit a one-out single. Dalton Baker added insurance runs in the seventh inning with a double that tallied a pair of scores. … Kellogg and Priest River postponed their game and no makeup game is scheduled.

“Lewiston (11-0, 6-0) stayed undefeated and atop the Inland Empire League standings with a decisive 11-1 win over visiting Moscow. Dusty Kerns collected four hits and Garrett Rodgers and John Rogers each added two. … The game between Lakeland and Post Falls at Post Falls was postponed and will be played today at 4 p.m.

Soccer

Tyler Bland beat a pair of defenders to net a breakaway goal that allowed host Riverside to upset third-place West Valley 1-0 in a Great Northern League match. Bland’s goal in the 16th minute broke a scoreless tie and neither Riverside (3-6, 3-4) or West Valley (7-5, 6-4) managed a score the rest of the way. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Kevin McNeil scored the first goal of the contest and assisted Jack Robertson on the game-winning goal in the 51st minute and host Deer Park (5-3, 5-3) outlasted Colville (0-9, 0-9) 2-1. … Cheney’s Mitch Weller beat a couple of defenders and went one-on-one with Medical Lake (5-4, 5-4) goalkeeper Jon Melvin to score the first goal of the match and lead his team to a 3-0 victory. Justin Hale and Dan Parker added goals for Cheney (11-1, 10-1) and goalkeeper David Sigley earned the shutout. … The host Pullman Greyhounds remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory over the Clarkston Bantams (1-8, 1-6). Pullman’s Amar Alamri scored the first goal for Pullman (8-0, 6-0) when he intercepted a pass from the goalie and tapped it in the net. T.K. Hemme received a pass from Christian Marcelo and scored from about 30 yards out. … Casey Duclos recorded a goal and an assist in the first half and visiting Lakeside (8-4, 5-4) downed Chewelah (1-8, 1-7) 2-0.

Softball

Jolene Millspaugh threw a complete game and went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as Cheney (6-6, 3-3) beat Riverside (4-6, 1-5) 12-8 in the first game of a Great Northern League doubleheader. Kaitlyn Proctor and Chelsea Lowe each added three RBIs for Cheney.

Riverside rebounded in the second game to drop Cheney 8-6. Megan Sanders was 3 for 3 with three runs and Vanity Thomas went 3 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the way.

Chrissy Turbak went 3 for 4 and scored two runs to lead Kellogg (7-1, 5-1) past host Priest River (0-10, 0-6) 13-5 as it won an Intermountain League game and remained atop the IML standings. Michaela Stewart threw five strikeouts and improved to 3-1 with the win.

Golf

Mead’s Erick Henderson won the Greater Spokane League meet with a 2-under 68 at the Wandermere Golf Course, but Lewis and Clark captured the team title. Justin Haase led the way for LC and shot a 70 and five of his teammates finished in the top 15.

“ Lewis and Clark’s Chessey Thomas won the Greater Spokane League girls meet with a 1-over 71 and LC captured the team title. Mead’s Lauren Howell finished two strokes back and Mead earned second place.
