Red Sox 5, Rangers 3: At Boston, Manny Ramirez hit a two-run homer after slumping slugging partner David Ortiz tied it with an RBI single in the eighth inning, lifting the Red Sox to a win over Texas. Ramirez then hit a 0-1 pitch over the Monster seats for his sixth of the season.

Rays 5, White Sox 0: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Andy Sonnanstine threw a three-hitter for his first career complete game and Tampa Bay beat Chicago. The White Sox had just three singles, including a bunt hit, and didn’t get a runner past second base.

Blue Jays 3, Tigers 2: At Toronto, Alex Rios homered, Dustin McGowan won for the first time this season and the Blue Jays beat Detroit, snapping a six-game home losing streak. Scott Downs worked the eighth and B.J. Ryan wrapped it up in the ninth for his second save.

Twins 3, Indians 0: At Minneapolis, Justin Morneau hit a two-run homer for power-poor Minnesota, and Nick Blackburn made it stand up with 7 2/3 scoreless innings in a victory over Cleveland. Joe Nathan posted his sixth save in as many attempts with a perfect ninth.

Athletics 6, Royals 5: At Oakland, Calif., Kurt Suzuki singled home Chris Denorfia with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and the Athletics knocked around Kansas City’s bullpen for a second straight day in a win over the Royals.

Orioles 6, Yankees 0: At Baltimore, Brian Burres and Jim Johnson combined on a six-hitter and the Orioles defeated New York. Ramon Hernandez and Aubrey Huff each drove in two runs and Kevin Millar homered for the Orioles.
