Sisters performing piano, violin recital

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Sisters Janine Knox de Nigris and Jodie Knox have gone from growing up on a small farm outside Spokane to performing at Carnegie Hall.

On Saturday, they will present a piano-and-violin recital featuring works by Beethoven, Scarlatti, Chopin, Brahms and Paganini at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave.

Janine has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance from the State University of New York’s Purchase Conservatory of Music. She teaches orchestra and piano at the Mamaroneck School District in New York and released her first album, “Inspired Journey,” in 2005.

Violinist Jodie has a bachelor’s in performance from Eastern Washington University and manages the information technology training team at EWU.

They performed at the intimate Weill Recital Hall in New York City’s Carnegie Hall in September 2006.

Saturday’s concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for juniors, seniors and students, through TicketsWest outlets (509-325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).
