CROP Walk

The 2008 Spokane CROP Hunger Walk, a project of Church World Service and the Interfaith Council of the Inland Northwest, starts Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Gonzaga University’s Martin Centre.

Participants can choose a 10-kilometer or 2-mile walk on the Centennial Trail. Registration begins at noon.

Walkers are asked to bring nonperishable food for Second Harvest Inland Northwest.

Twenty-five percent of the money raised will go to Second Harvest, Interfaith Hospitality of Spokane, Mid-City Concerns Meals on Wheels and Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels. The rest will support hunger relief and education efforts worldwide.

Centennial celebration

Manito Presbyterian Church, 401 E. 30th Ave., celebrates 100 years of worship this weekend.

Sukiyaki dinner

Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield St., will present its 59th annual Sukiyaki Dinner today from noon to 7 p.m.
