Marlins 8, Mets 2: At New York, Josh Johnson pitched seven solid innings, Dan Uggla had two doubles and three RBIs and Florida topped the Mets to avoid a three-game sweep by its divison rivals.

Astros 13, Reds 4: At Cincinnati, Michael Bourn homered and drove in four runs, Lance Berkman and Geoff Blum also went deep and Houston rolled the Reds.

Phillies 6, Pirates 3: At Philadelphia, Chase Utley homered and the Phillies rallied for a win over Pittsburgh. Utley snapped a 3-3 tie with his 29th home run – a two run shot in the seventh.

Brewers 5, Nationals 4 (13): At Milwaukee, Gabe Kapler homered to lead off the 13th inning and lift the Brewers to a victory over Washington.

Padres 16, Rockies 7: At Denver, four Padres hit home runs, three in the third inning alone, Brian Giles and Adrian Gonzalez finished with four hits each and San Diego routed Colorado.

Giants 5, Dodgers 4: At San Francisco, Aaron Rowand scored from third on Eugenio Velez’s infield single, and San Francisco rallied with two runs in the ninth inning to beat Los Angeles.

Diamondbacks 6, Braves 1: At Phoenix, Brandon Webb threw six strong innings, Chris Snyder homered and Arizona snapped a four-game losing streak with a victory over Atlanta.

Cubs 6, Cardinals 2: At Chicago, Ryan Dempster won his 13th game and the Cubs beat St. Louis. Ronny Cedeno’s double capped a five-run sixth inning for the Cubs.
