Opportunistic Indians roll to victory over Volcanoes

KEIZER, Ore. – Errors erupted at Volcanoes Stadium on Tuesday night and the Spokane Indians were the beneficiaries in their third straight win.

An error in the third got Spokane on the scoreboard and three more miscues helped the Indians scored five times in the fifth en route to a 13-3 Northwest League win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (32-29).

The Indians (42-19) have a seven-game lead over second-place Boise (35-26) in the East Division and host the Hawks for a three-game series beginning tonight at Avista Stadium. Spokane and Boise square off nine times over the final 15 games of the season. The Indians also have home-and-home three-game series against Tri-City.

Wilfredo Boscan allowed two runs in five innings to run his record to 8-0 for Spokane.

Jared Bolden went 4 for 6 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Indians on offense.
