Don’t fear the Rivers

The Two Rivers Amphitheatre at the casino of the same name presents its third concert and first rock show – Blue Oyster Cult – tonight at the 7,000-plus outdoor venue.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Tickets for the show are $40, through TicketsWest outlets and by (509-325-SEAT), though tickets are not currently available on the TicketsWest Web site.

KYRS film night: Joe Strummer

KYRS is hosting a screening of “The Future Is Unwritten,” featuring late and legendary Clash frontman Joe Strummer.

“The Future is Unwritten,” shows on Thursday at 8 pm. at the Community Building, 35 W. Main. The $6 suggested donation benefits KYRS Thin Air Community Radio.

Move and Groove

After two years of playing a weekly show at Brooklyn Nights, The Groove Patrol is transplanting to a new venue in September.

You can catch the improvisational funk-jazz-rock outfit the next two Thursdays at Brooklyn Nights, 122 S. Monroe.

But starting Sept. 11, The Groove Patrol will appear weekly at Zola, 22 W. Main.

The same rules apply, all-improv sets with rotating drummers.

The cover is $2 for the Brooklyn Nights shows, but there is no cover for The Groove Patrol at Zola.
