Cubs 3, Reds 2: At Chicago, Carlos Zambrano earned his 13th victory on the fourth try and also homered to lift the Cubs over Cincinnati.

Dodgers 3, Rockies 1: At Los Angeles, Derek Lowe cooled off Colorado by allowing one run in 61/3 innings, James Loney homered and had two RBIs, and the Dodgers salvaged the finale of a three-game series.

Giants 4, Marlins 3: At San Francisco, Emmanuel Burriss scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving San Francisco a victory over Florida.

Nationals 4, Phillies 3: At Philadelphia, Austin Kearns hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the eighth inning and Washington snapped a 12-game losing streak. The Phillies blew an eighth-inning lead for the third time in nine days.

Mets 5, Braves 4: At New York, Carlos Delgado singled in the winning run in the ninth inning and tied a career high with five hits, sending the Mets to a victory over Atlanta and a three-game sweep.

Diamondbacks 4, Padres 1: Brandon Webb pitched seven shutout innings for his career-high and major league-leading 19th victory in Arizona’s win over San Diego.
