WCCBL honors players

Spokane RiverHawks second baseman Aaron Headrick and Bend Elks outfielder Drew Heid, who plays for Gonzaga University, were among All-West Coast Collegiate Baseball League first-team selections, as voted on by head coaches.

Other first-team selections announced Thursday included Alex Burg of the Corvallis Knights (Washington State) and Wenatchee AppleSox pitcher Steve Ames (Gonzaga).

Second-team members included outfielder Mark Purser (RiverHawks and Community Colleges of Spokane), and pitcher Chris Vitus (RiverHawks and Mt. Hood CC).
