Jason Webley is a beautiful monster.

Anyone who has seen him live already knows this.

His live show is virtually unmatched in the area, as the far as a dude and an accordion go (he’s also pretty big in parts of Europe, especially Russia).

Webley was arrested and eternally banned from Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival after pied pipering a herd of followers into the International Fountain a few years ago. He has a fruit fetish that has risen to cult status through his tomato camps (he has converted a car into a mobile tomato for tours to help carry the legend).

On his current West Coast run, Webley enlists the help of an entire squad of monsters for the Monsters of Accordion tour.

The lineup includes San Francisco’s Mark Growden, known for dark and sexy compositions; Seattle’s Amy Denio, who has collaborated with the likes of Bill Frisell, Kultur Shock and Chuck D.; and Oakland’s Duckmandu, a virtuoso who visits everything from klezmer and polka numbers to ’70s rock, Broadway tunes and Sousa marches.

Jason Webley and the Monsters of Accordion are joined by special guest accordionist and local singer-songwriter favorite Karli Fairbanks tonight at 7 p.m. at Caterina Winery, 905 N. Washington St. Cover is $10.

Pimp your soul

Devo meets Funkadelic when Seattle’s Super Sonic Soul Pimps take the stage.

The Seattle punk-funk sex-charged weirdoes’ musical mayhem has been stinking up the West Side since 1992 with drug-laced lyrics and stony anthems.

The Soul Pimps threatened for more than a year to release an album of lost tapes and b-sides from the original mobile RV/recording studio sessions, but the individual members were preoccupied with working as studio guns for various action-sports-related projects.

It seems that when these whack jobs aren’t making songs about sex, drugs and malicious mischief, they are fairly accomplished musicians in their own right.

Catch the Super Sonic Soul Pimps on Saturday at 9 p.m. at The Blvd., 333 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Tickets are $10 for the 21-and-older show, through TicketsWest, www.ticketswest.com, (509) 325-SEAT.

Club hoppin’

Skeletonwitch is taking it back and moving it forward all at once.

Old school, new school, next school, this is all school metal – frighteningly technical and unbelievably precise – that should appeal to anyone with a taste for blood.

Hailing from Athens, Ohio, Skeletonwitch appears Saturday at The Zombie Room, 230 W. Riverside Ave., with support from Super Happy Storytime Land, Obstruktor and Monolith. Cover is $8.

•The world of wizards, warlocks, and witches comes to life at the Empyrean, 154 S Madison St., on Saturday for AJ Hanengerg’s Magic Forest Party, with an eclectic music mix from DJs Vera, Peter Parker and Orange. There will be a break dance contest with a $100 prize for the best costume, voted by the audience. Cover is $5, $3 with a themed costume. The party starts at 8 p.m.

At the same time, Zac Fairbanks’ Booze Fighters set up shop on Empyrean’s patio. Cover to be announced.

Nightwatch tracks the local live music scene.
