Go beyond instant replay

The Spokesman-Review

I was pleased to see Major League Baseball will incorporate instant replay on certain home runs. A great start. However, they cannot stop there. It needs to be expanded to safe/out and fair/foul. Obviously, challenges must be limited and the penalty for requesting a challenge that is not confirmed must be strong enough to make a manager think twice about requesting one.

Also, when are they going to eliminate the phantom out at second base at the start of a double play? If my memory serves me, the rule book states, give or take a word, a forceout is made when the player in possession of the baseball touches a base before the runner touches the base. Close counts only in hand grenades and horse shoes.
