Man arrested in fatal crash

A Spokane man was transported from a hospital to a jail today on charges related to a fatal Dec. 3 crash that injured him. William D. Deardorff, 53, was booked into the Bonner County Jail on charges of aggravated drunken driving and vehicular manslaughter after nearly a week at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, according to the Idaho State Police. Deardorff was southbound near milepost 456 of Highway 95 in a 1988 Chevrolet pickup when he struck a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Crystal L. Bertolucci, 31, of Sandpoint, about 5:28 p.m. on Dec. 3, according to ISP. The crash killed Kimberlee R. Dingman, 44, of Sandpoint, and sent Bertolucci’s 1-year-old child, Skylar Bertolucci, to Kootenai Medical Center with minor injuries, according to ISP. Deardorff has at least five convictions for driving with a suspended license, newspaper archives show.
