Felony gun charges filed in wake of raid at home

Felony convictions as a juvenile led to felony gun charges Tuesday for a Spokane Valley man arrested last week after police found more than 100 items of stolen property in his garage.

Brandon J. Ferrell, 30, faces two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in addition to theft and stolen property charges related to a raid at his home in the 2700 block of North Park Road last Wednesday, according to the Spokane Valley Police Department.

A boyfriend and girlfriend led police to the home after someone alerted the pair about it in response to their Craigslist posting looking for two stolen motorcycles, according to police.

Along with the bikes and other stolen property, police say they found a .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun. Detectives re-arrested Ferrell at his home Tuesday on the gun charges after the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed his juvenile convictions prohibited him from possessing firearms.
