No limits to ornament displays

By Terri Sapienza The Washington Post

Who says ornaments have to be hung on a tree? This year, think beyond branches when using your holiday accessories, and consider spreading ornaments throughout the house for easy, inexpensive decorating.

Place colorful bunches in glass bowls, jars or other tall vessels and set them on tables or mantels. Use some instead of candles in a pair of hurricane lamps. Hang individual ornaments from satin ribbons on wreaths, in doorways or from the center window latch. (Glass ornaments will catch the sunlight.)

Line an assortment down the center of a table with votive candles for an instant table runner, or place a pile on a platter for a pretty centerpiece. Use one to top a beautifully wrapped gift, or even better: Wrap the ornament, and it becomes the present.
