Digital TV test for tonight canceled

By The Spokesman-Review

A TV test scheduled for tonight to help identify viewers who need to prepare for the digital television conversion has been canceled due to bad weather.

Four local TV stations were set to show viewers a screen message with a phone number during tonight’s newscasts. Those seeing the message are not ready for the DTV conversion on Feb. 17.

John Souza of KREM said the stations realized trying to have volunteers waiting at a phone bank on the South Hill would not be safe given the heavy snowfall.

The local stations intend to have at least two more DTV tests for local viewers.
