New pastor preaches at Plymouth

Plymouth Congregational Church, 1502 W. Eighth Ave., will introduce its new pastor Sunday at the 10 a.m. service.

Senior Pastor Gary Gardell, who will join the church in January, will deliver a special Christmas message.

The service will include music.

Christmas Eve celebrations and services

Cheney United Methodist Church, 204 Fourth St., Cheney, will present two candlelight Christmas Eve services.

The 6 p.m. service will be family-friendly and the 11 p.m. service will be a traditional one that includes Holy Communion.

Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta, will present two services Christmas Eve Wednesday.

This year’s message will be “The Gift.”

The 5 p.m. service will be a contemporary service including the Worship Team. The 9 p.m. service will be traditional and will include the church choir.

Lincoln Heights Community Church, 3527 E. 29th, will present its Christmas Eve candlelight service at 10 p.m.

First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division St. will present “What Child is This” Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

The event will feature teachings, music, fellowship and refreshments.

The church will also present a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.

“One Holy Night,” will include worship and Communion.

Blue Christmas

For those suffering through the long month of December alone, Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd., will present its annual Blue Christmas service Friday at 7 p.m.

The service is a quiet, candlelit time to heal our grief and find hope for the future.

Winter Solstice Celtic Eucharist

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., will present a winter solstice celebration and a Celtic Creation Eucharist today at 7 pm.

The service will include a blessing and a sharing of fire. A party will follow the service and attendees are asked to bring a finger food snack or a beverage to share.
