Christmas forecast: A bit more snow
The National Weather Service is forecasting more snow today with temperatures approaching freezing by 11 a.m. then dropping to the low 20s in Spokane.
Accumulation of an inch or 2 is possible. Coeur d’Alene can expect to see much of the same.
Travel throughout the region will remain hazardous today.
Friday night could bring significant snowfall, according to meteorologist Matt Fugazzi, with 7 inches possible in Spokane and 10 in Coeur d’Alene. “That could be a significant snow producer,” Fugazzi said.
Temperatures will be around 20 degrees.
The weekend is looking messy, with warming temperatures bringing a mix of rain and snow Saturday and Sunday, according to the weather service. Expect highs in the low to mid 30s.
