First Night Spokane

What: The annual family friendly New Year’s Eve celebration returns with a half-dozen dance parties, an expanded Rail Jam Snowboard Competition and plenty more, from classical music to comedy.

When: Wednesday, Kids’ Night Out, 3-6 p.m.; parade and opening ceremonies, 6-7 p.m.; entertainment begins at 7 p.m.

Where: Various locations throughout downtown Spokane (look for full schedule in Sunday’s Today section).

Cost: $12 button ($15 on Wednesday), at area Zip Trip stores (kids age 10 and under admitted free).
