Some churches change schedules

Nina Culver

The celebration of Jesus’ birth has passed, but a few Spokane Valley churches are planning changes to the usual schedule to mark the celebration of the new year.

• The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene will not host a worship service on New Year’s Eve, but the church will be open between 5 and 6 p.m. Wednesday for those who want to receive communion. The church is at 15515 E. 20th Ave.

• Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Road, will have one combined worship service at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

• Christ Lutheran Church will have a combined worship service of Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The church is at 13009 E. Broadway Ave.
