SUV drivers out of control

The Spokesman-Review

There are classes in “defensive driving,” but I think everyone who drives an SUV should be required to take an eight-hour course in “considerate driving.” And I don’t care if they have a Hummer or an Outback. In fact, because we can go means we should give others who are struggling the opportunity to go.

I watched an idiot driving a rusted-out Toyota 4Rrunner try to make a U-turn at a Rosauer’s turn-in today. He didn’t make it and backed up on 29th, forcing a driver in a little Volkswagen to lock up his brakes and almost slide into him. I was all prepared to jump out and give the VW driver my name and number and tell him that I would speak on his behalf at a court hearing.

I have seen sweet-looking little “ladies” in Suburbans tailgate hapless drivers of smaller cars just trying to get from point A to B.

I have watched kids in Subarus pass on the right when there was – maybe – half a lane. This is lunacy! Calm down. Slow down. Be nice.
