Titans earn state berth in gymnastics

University earned a spot in the State 4A gymnastics meet by taking first place at the 4A regional Saturday at University High School.

The Titans had a gymnast finish in second place in all four of the individual events. U-Hi’s Stacie Davis placed second in the all-around.

Taylor Gray took the title in the floor exercise to guide Mead to a second-place finish.

Shadle Park was third, followed by Central Valley.

Kamiakin qualified for state by taking first place at the 3A/2A regional, also held at U-Hi.

Mt. Spokane’s Meghan Ballou earned a spot in the state meet by winning the all-around. She was also first on the bars. Her Wildcats finished fourth.

Both the 4A and 3A/2A state meets will be held Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
