Amy Winehouse‘s successful performance at the Grammys shows the troubled young singer is on the road to recovery, her mother says.

“Well, it’s Amy coming back, she’s definitely on the way back,” Janis Winehouse told Britain’s GMTV on Tuesday.

Sunday was Winehouse’s first public performance since being released from a London rehab clinic for substance abuse.

The satellite performance was arranged after the U.S. government rejected her application for a work visa. The decision was reversed, but too late to make the trip.

“Well, as you saw, she looks good, and it’s a case of she’s on the road – and that’s what it’s about – she’s on the road to recovery,” Janis Winehouse said.

The singer’s representatives said her treatment is continuing on an outpatient basis.

Winehouse’s five Grammys were the crowning achievement to a spectacular 18 months for the 24-year-old singer-songwriter.

Her “Back To Black” has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. She has won MTV Europe’s Artists’ Choice Award, the Elle Style Award and the Q Award for Album of the Year.

The thrill isn’t gone

In a video to promote Tuesday’s 25th-anniversary rerelease of “Thriller,” Michael Jackson says he’s not done yet.

“There is still much to come for Michael Jackson,” he said, adding: “My passion for music has never stopped.”

The new release features collaborations with Kanye West, Akon, Fergie and will.i.am.

Lung-suffering

Rocker Lenny Kravitz, hospitalized with bronchitis, has canceled his European tour.

And Dolly Parton has postponed a tour in support of her new CD, “Backwoods Barbie,” because of unspecified back problems.

Game over

Rapper The Game has been sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading no contest to felony possession of a firearm in a school zone.

He was accused of pulling a gun on an opposing player during a pickup basketball game at a South Los Angeles school.

Another Hilton checks in

Paris Hilton‘s younger brother, Barron Hilton, was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly driving under the influence.

Paris pleaded no contest last year to alcohol-related reckless driving and served a little more than two weeks in jail.

‘Spamalot’ filtered

Britney Spears is out, and Posh Spice is in as the punchline in a song from the Broadway musical “Monty Python’s Spamalot.”

The lyrics had read: “I’ve no Grammy no rewards/I’ve no Tony Awards/I’m constantly replaced by Britney Spears/Britney Spears!”

“We think that it’s now too sad,” said show creator Eric Idle. “Britney Spears is being tortured to death, and we don’t want to be on that side.”
