Pat Knight gets first victory

Alan Voskuil scored a career-high 30 points and Texas Tech beat No. 18 Kansas State 84-75 on Wednesday night in Lubbock, Texas, to give Pat Knight his first win since taking over for his father Bob Knight.

Bill Walker had 27 points and Michael Beasley added 22 for Kansas State (17-6, 7-2), which came into the game in first place in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders (13-10, 4-5) scored on seven of their first eight possessions in the second half. A 15-6 run gave Texas Tech a 60-38 lead with about 14 minutes remaining.

(1) Memphis 68, Houston 59: At Memphis, Tenn., Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 22 points and the Tigers (24-0, 10-0 C-USA) rallied from their first halftime deficit since Dec. 4 to beat the Cougars (18-5, 7-2).

(2) Duke 77, Maryland 65: At Durham, N.C., freshman Kyle Singler scored a season-high 26 points and the Blue Devils (22-1, 10-0 ACC) turned away the Terrapins (16-9, 6-4) for their 12th straight win.

(4) Tennessee 93, Arkansas 71: At Knoxville, Tenn., JaJuan Smith scored 32 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Volunteers (22-2, 9-1 SEC) to a rout of the Razorbacks (17-6, 6-3).

(12) Xavier 62, Charlotte 60: At Charlotte, N.C., Josh Duncan scored 25 points, including the clinching 3-pointer with 15.9 seconds left, and the Musketeers (21-4, 9-1 A-10) beat the 49ers (14-9, 5-4).

(15) Wisconsin 68, (13) Indiana 66: At Bloomington, Ind., Brian Butch banked in a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left, the last of Wisconsin’s 11 3s, and the Badgers (20-4, 10-2 Big Ten) held off the Hoosiers (20-4, 9-2).

Southern Illinois 65, (14) Drake 62: At Carbondale, Ill., Randal Falker had 13 points and 10 rebounds and the Salukis (13-12, 8-6 MVC) put an end to a 21-game winning streak by the Bulldogs (22-2, 13-1).

(17) Connecticut 84, (20) Notre Dame 78: At Storrs, Conn., A.J. Price scored 26 points and the Huskies (19-5, 8-3 Big East) won their eighth straight, beating the Irish (18-5, 8-3).

Women

Brittainey Raven scored 18 points to lead the Texas Longhorns (16-8, 4-6 Big 12) to a win over the No. 8 Baylor Bears (21-3, 9-2) in Austin, Texas.
