In brief: Police find dead man in Lincoln Park
Spokane police found the body of a middle-aged man in the bushes in Lincoln Park this morning after a man walking his dog discovered it.
The man was located west of the driveway to the park at 2100 E. Southeast Blvd., according to a press release from the Spokane Police Department. Though he was not identified by name, police describe the dead man as about 40, white, 6 feet tall with dark brown hair and a thin build. He was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and tennis shoes, police said.
Major crimes detectives are investigating the death. An autopsy is pending.

Man faces 4 charges after police chase
A Spokane man is in jail after officers found a two-thirds empty fifth of vodka in his car after a short pursuit that began when the man’s vehicle sideswiped a police cruiser, police say.
Spokane police officers Holton Widhalm and Zachary Storment spotted 32-year-old Jackson Aini’s car drifting into their lane as he drove east on East Illinois Avenue about 6:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Police Department. The officers, who were westbound, activated their emergency lights and swerved to avoid a collision. But Aini sideswiped their cruiser and continued east on Illinois, according to police.
Widhalm and Storment followed and arrested Aini as he was pulling into his driveway in the 2600 block of North Martin Street. Police said he was uncooperative and had to be removed from the vehicle.
Aini faces charges of attempting to elude an officer, driving under the influence, hit and run, and failure to obey an officer.

Pilot contacted husband before crash
An experienced pilot killed in the crash of a small plane told her husband the aircraft had lost power and that she was trying to land, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.
Ann Price, 54, and her 34-year-old niece, whose name was not released, died shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday, when the experimental fixed-wing plane Price was flying crashed in a field outside this Snohomish County town about 40 miles north of Seattle, said Rebecca Hover, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
