Auditions

“Oedipus the King” – Spokane Falls Community College winter production, Friday, 4 p.m. at the SFCC Playhouse, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive. Needed: children ages 8-12, under 5 feet tall. Auditioners should prepare a poem or song that is less than two minutes long. Performance dates: Feb. 28-March 9. Call (509) 533-3592.

Spokane Symphony Chorale – Sopranos and tenors are needed for the group that performs with the Spokane Symphony. Auditions will be Monday; auditioners should prepare a solo and be prepared to perform a passage from either the Verdi or Brahms “Requiem.” An accompanist will be provided. “Charlotte’s Web” – Lake City Playhouse, Monday and Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St., Coeur d’Alene. Needed are children ages 7-12. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script. Call (208) 667-1323.

“The Night of the Iguana” – Spokane Civic Theatre, Monday and Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the theater, 1020 N. Howard. Needed are five to six women ages 18-65 and five to six men ages 18-80. “The Friendly Enemy” – Spokane Community College, next Thursday and Jan 11 from 1:30-4 p.m. at the SCC Lair Auditorium, 1810 N. Greene St. Needed: adult men and women, two children ages 5-8 and nonsinging extras for crowd scenes. Auditioners must be able to sing and dance. Call (509) 533-7000.

Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho – New classes for children ages 6-18 begin Tuesday and will meet every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best, Coeur d’Alene. 2008 Twining Humber Award – Artist Trust is seeking nominations for the annual award for lifetime artistic achievement by female Washington state artists age 60 or older. The deadline is Jan. 25. Orient/Inchelium/Valley Arts Consortium – Local visual artists, musicians, dancers, actors and others are needed to present programs to students in Northeastern Washington’s Orient, Inchelium and Valley school districts. Idaho Prize for Poetry – Lost Horse Press is seeking submissions for the annual contest, which offers a $1,000 prize plus publication of a book-length poetry manuscript.
