Homes, properties can be had for back taxes, fees

Spokane County officials may sell as many as 26 homes and other properties in a tax foreclosure auction Friday.

Owners have until 5 p.m. today to pay back taxes, penalties and liens for other government charges in order to keep their real estate.

Unredeemed properties will be auctioned at 10 a.m. Friday in the county commissioners’ auditorium in the Public Works Building at 1026 W. Broadway Ave., next to the county courthouse.

Bidders must offer at least enough to cover taxes and liens, and must pay a $62 excise and recording fee. Properties range from homes to an abandoned gasoline station with leaky fuel tanks.

Tentatively, the list includes these addresses and minimum bids:

•House at 524 N. Hallet, Medical Lake, $6,106.

•Vacant land near Clear Lake, $2,708.

•Vacant land near Clear Lake, $2,784.

•Two parcels of vacant residential land near Rambo Road in the northwestern part of the county, $4,476 each.

•Residential land at 2197 W. Garland Ave., $3,491.

•Residential land at 2107 W. Garland Ave., 8.787.

•Residential land at 1011 N. Elm St., $3,359.

•House at 1639 W. Clarke Ave., $6,264.

•House at 6007 N. Nettleton St., $9,515.

•Store and gasoline station at 36510 S. Old State Route 195, $17,410.

•House at 4209 E. Rich Ave., $3,383.

•House at 3711 N. Atlantic St., $4,000.

•Residential land near Fifth and Bradley, $3,179.

•Residential land in the 10,000 block of North Stevens Street, $2,597.

•Three parcels of residential land on North Cedar Street, north of its intersection with Country Homes Boulevard, $2,903 each.

•House at 1616 E. Francis Ave., $9,009.

•A strip of vacant land along an alley near Myrtle and Wellesley, $2,631.
