Cindy Hval’s Front Porch on “shiny red things” caught my attention since she mentioned her coveting my new red crock pot. I e-mailed Cindy and told her I thought she needed a dryer to go with her new Tango Red washing machine. She replied that she did get one.

Stefanie Pettit’s article on grief reminded me of a friend I have lunch with once a month. Imagine my surprise when that friend wrote me of her being mentioned in the article. Our Fab Four group meets at the Davenport during the Christmas season and will meet at my home this month for a bowl of soup and conversation. We laugh and cry, vent our problems and know that our words will be safely treasured. Friendship is a wonderful gift.
