Hayden Eagles donate to DARE, DAV

Hayden Lake Eagles Aerie 4080 recently provided donations to several area organizations.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s department D.A.R.E. Program received $1,000 to help support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education efforts.

The Disabled American Veterans Fort Sherman Chapter 9 received $987 to help provide Christmas needs for 43 children of Idaho Guardsmen and Army Reservists who returned from Iraq this fall.

•Kootenai Health has received a $5,000 cash grant from the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Aerie to provide equipment for the new Cancer Center in Post Falls.

•Specialized Needs Recreation has received a $5,000 grant from the Stimson-Miller Foundation. The funds will help support Camp Allstars and will allow an additional 50 disabled, low-income children ages 4-21 to attend 10 days of summer day camp.

•Idaho Drug Free Youth at Canfield Middle School recently sponsored a food drive and donated more than 1,650 items to the food bank at Lake City Community Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Students and staff helped gather more than 1,600 pounds of food for the drive which took place from Dec. 12-19.

Bank of America recently awarded $5,000 to the Community Action Partnership to help support community initiatives to end poverty.

Community Action Partnership promotes it’s Circles Initiatives in Kootenai County, Sandpoint and the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. The program is linked to national campaigns which assist families to rise out of poverty.
