NFL playoffs

The Spokesman-Review

Time: 1:30 p.m.

TV: Fox 28

Line: Packers by 8.

Records: Seahawks (11-6), Packers (13-3)

Last meeting: Seahawks won 34-24 at Seattle on Nov. 27, 2006.

Key stat: Mike Holmgren is fifth all time with 13 postseason wins, 9 in Green Bay and 4 in Seattle.

Fantasy factor: Packers rookie Ryan Grant averaged 92.9 yards rushing and scored 8 TDs in final 10 games. Matt Hasselbeck burned the Packers for 3 TD passes in last meeting.

The buzz: Well-rested Packers should continue their role as one of the NFL’s surprise teams, now that Grant has given them enough running to complement Brett Favre. Seahawks will need to run the ball with Shaun Alexander to pull off the upset, but it’s not their strength anymore.

Time: 5 p.m.

TV: CBS

Line: Patriots by 13 1/2 .

Records: Jaguars (12-5), Patriots (16-0)

Last meeting: Patriots won 24-21 at Jacksonville on Dec. 24, 2006.

Key stat: Pats 2-1 vs. Jaguars in playoffs, including 2-0 at home, most recently in ‘05.

Fantasy factor: Jags’ Fred Taylor is a playoff performer, averaging 5.0 yards per carry with three 100-yard games in six postseason appearances. Tom Brady is 6-0 in home playoff games with 8 TD passes and 2 INTs.

The buzz: Jaguars’ hopes for an upset ride with Taylor and their ability to control the ball, keeping it away from Brady. Pats had some scares in the final six weeks – three wins by only a field goal – and they’re hardly invincible. But they’ll stay perfect at home.
