Hornets sting host Tigers

Samma Dick hit a three-pointer to tie it with one minute left and then hit another jumper for the winning margin and the Inchelium Hornets held off the Republic Tigers 54-52 in Panorama League girls action Monday night at Republic.

Dick finished with 21 points. Serena Condon chipped in with 16 for Inchelium.

Karissa Lehn scored 28 points and pulled down 19 rebounds for Republic.

•In North Star League play at Harrison, Idaho, Emily Frank had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Kootenai to a 36-29 victory over Lakeside of Plummer.

Briana Stockdale and Rian Miller led Lakeside with eight points each.

Boys basketball

Jared Bilaski scored 15 of his team-high 21 points in the first quarter and Wallace cruised to a 67-20 North Star League victory over Mullan at Wallace.

•Donny Carson scored 25 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Inchelium to a 71-50 win over host Republic in Panorama League play.

College swimming

Whitworth University senior Samantha Kephart was selected as the Northwest Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week after winning three individual events in a dual meet victory over Seattle University,
