Fresh Sheet: Cena tastings promise bit of everything

The dinner make-and-take specialists at Cena are hosting a monthly wine tasting to put on the calendar.

The tasting Jan. 24 features sake and sushi at Cena Spokane. Chefs from Raw Sushi and Sake Lounge will give a demonstration of how to make sushi and offer samples to the group. Guests also will taste some samples of sake, which can be purchased during the tasting.

Cena owner Tami Badinger says there also will be samples of Cena’s food, and their pre-made “Meals to Go” will be available for purchase.

“What our goal was for people to be able to come to these events and not only have a good time but walk away with some of their shopping done and gain some new culinary knowledge,” Badinger says.

Each tasting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and the cost is $5 per person. Cena Spokane is at 12501 N. Highway 395, Suite 3.

On Feb. 7, the Cena tasting will feature Boehm’s Chocolates paired with European wines. Boehm’s chocolates will be available to purchase and all Cena’s European wines will be on sale.

Here are the other tastings:

March 27: Brew and Bread, featuring Coeur d’Alene Brewing Co. and Great Harvest Bread Co.

April 24: Wine and Art, with Robert Karl Cellars and Tin Roof Art Gallery

May 8: Mother’s Day Gift Show and Wine Tasting, with Lone Canary Cellars and Olive Branch

Call Cena to reserve a space at (509) 328-3709 or email info@cenatogo.com.
