Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio, but I’ve lived in lots of places. I moved to Hayden from Spokane three years ago.

Occupation: I’m retired as the sales manager for a telecommunications company.

Family: I’m a widower; my wife died four years ago. My daughter, Noelle Brown, lives in Dalton Gardens, and I have a son in Spokane. I also have four grandkids.

Hobbies: Sailing, boating, skiing, hiking and building furniture.

What do you like about North Idaho? The water, our four seasons, the mountains, trees, snow that comes and goes, and you can recreate in the outdoors all year long.

Favorite music: Smooth jazz

Favorite TV show: I have several favorites. They range from news shows like Chris Matthews’ “Hardball” to “Boston Legal” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Favorite movie: “Where Eagles Dare”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Lake Pend Oreille. It has good sailing and great views.
