Fire District 2 – Commissioners discussed a recently received Department of Natural Resources grant for $5,600 that will be used to purchase new turnout gear and a couple of hose nozzles. They approved repairs on an ambulance to fix the heater core and thermostat. They also voted to purchase more emergency lights for Station 22 that will be used in case of a power outage. Fire District 13 (Newman Lake) – Commissioners reviewed bids for a new fire boat and conditionally approved a bid by Harbor Guard. The district’s annual safety and service dinner will be held in April. The district had 7 EMS calls and one fire related call this month. (Source: Secretary Rosa Ingram)
