Ingebritsen, Olgard lead Panthers past Titans

Taylor Ingebritsen scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds and Alexis Olgard added 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks as the Mead girls basketball team remained in second place in the Greater Spokane League with a 51-40 win over University Saturday at Mead.

The Panthers took control early, outscoring the Titans 14-7 in the first quarter and taking a 26-18 lead into halftime.

Tifa Puletasi and Jazmine Redmon added eight points apiece for Mead.

Riki Schiermeister tallied a game-high 14 points to lead University.

The Panthers improved to 14-2 while the Titans fell to 11-5.

Lewis and Clark 70, North Central 32: Brittany Kennedy scored a game-high 14 points and the Tigers remained undefeated with a victory over the visiting Indians.

Sarah Kliewer added 12 points and eight rebounds and Mary Blevins chipped in 10 points for Lewis and Clark.

The Tigers took control early, outscoring the Indians 24-8 in the first quarter.

Alexandria Canfield led North Central with 10 points.

Lewis and Clark improved to 16-0 while the Indians fell to 4-12.

Central Valley 61, Mt. Spokane 47: Justine Bowman scored 19 points and the Bears opened up a big first-half lead en route to a victory over the host Wildcats.

Ashley Hinseth added 12 points for Central Valley, which outscored Mt. Spokane 15-9 in the second quarter to take a 10-point halftime lead.

Free-throw shooting proved to be a deciding factor. The Bears were 30 of 38 from the line; the Wildcats 12 of 19.

Katie Karisch scored 12 points and Kris Sink added 11 to lead Mt. Spokane.

Central Valley improved its record to 9-8, while the Wildcats fell to 4-12.

East Valley 47, Gonzaga Prep 37: Morgan Manchester and Kelsi Jacobson scored 13 points apiece and the Knights came alive in the second half to upset the visiting Bullpups.

East Valley (4-11) outscored Gonzaga Prep 27-15 in the second half to erase a two-point halftime deficit.

Tia Presley led the Bullpups (7-10) with 13 points.

Shadle Park 62, Rogers 32: Lexie Pettersen scored a game-high 20 points and the Highlanders used a big first-quarter run to defeat the Pirates at Spokane Falls Community College.

Kendra Knutsen and Chelsea Chandler added nine points apiece for Shadle Park, which outscored Rogers 24-3 in the first quarter.

Samantha Roybal led the Pirates with 12 points.

The Highlanders improved to 14-3 on the season while Rogers fell to 0-16.
