Rescue crews find snowmobiler’s body
Search and rescue crews have found the body of a snowmobiler who got separated from his friends near Stevens Pass.
Deputy Rich Barton, a spokesman for the King County Sheriff’s Office, said the man went off a trail, hit a tree, and the snowmobile landed on top of him Saturday afternoon. His body was found about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities did not identify the man, who was reportedly in his early 20s.

Only minor injuries after bus, truck crash
Six people were transported to a hospital with minor injuries after a fuel truck with an empty tank and a bus chartered for a Special Olympics event crashed and overturned on an icy highway in southeastern Washington on Saturday, said State Patrol Trooper Mike Jensen.
The fuel truck was westbound on State Route 124 north of Walla Walla when and slid off the road, and the Special Olympics bus – with 32 people on board after a day of skiing at Bluewood – followed suit, rolling onto its side. Two other cars also skidded off the road.
The injuries consisted mostly of bruises, scrapes and sore backs, Jensen said.
The roads were so slick that emergency workers initially had trouble reaching the scene. Some walked from about a half-mile away, Jensen said, and four-wheel-drive vehicles eventually drove through a field to get closer to the crash site.
Portland
Truck hits, kills police officer
A Portland police officer died Sunday when he was struck by a truck after having car trouble on Interstate 5 in Vancouver, Wash., the authorities said.
Mark Zylawy, 40, of Ridgefield, Wash., had been a police officer for 17 years and is survived by his wife and four children, said Chief Rosie Sizer, of the Portland Police Bureau.
The Washington State Patrol said Zylawy was killed about 6:32 a.m. after breaking down near the Clark County Fairgrounds. He was next to his vehicle and the hood was open.
The truck driver, Lawrence Stieben, 55, of Milwaukie, Ore., was not hurt.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
