Kyle Tucker totaled 20 points and 12 rebounds Wednesday as Almira/Coulee-Hartline (6-14) defeated Columbia 53-41 in a District 7 1B boys play-in game at Davenport. Marcos Morado had 25 points and four steals for the Lions, whose season ended at 5-16. ACH advances to play at Northport on Friday night at 6.

Peter Waterman scored 16 points, hitting 10 of 10 from the free-throw line, as visiting Newport (5-13, 2-6) upset Freeman 54-49 in the Northeast A League. Luke Mathews had six assists for the Scotties (11-8, 5-4), who shot 22 percent from the floor in the second half. Freeman defeated Newport 50-36 on Jan. 4.

Girls

Megan McIntyre finished with 21 points and eight rebounds as Associated Press second-ranked Freeman (18-1, 8-1) rolled to a 62-42 win over visiting Newport (6-12, 0-8) in the Northeast A League. Freeman’s MacKenzie Taylor added seven steals.

Katie Urann scored eight of her 15 points in the final 3 minutes, and added 11 rebounds and four blocked shots as St. Michael’s (4-16) defeated Odessa 46-38 in a District 7 1B play-in game at Davenport. Katie Drass added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who advance to play at Inchelium 6 p.m. Saturday. Jordan Frederick scored 12 for the Tigers (3-16), who were eliminated.

Elsa Krier scored 19 points and visiting St. Maries (11-7) outscored Kootenai (6-12) 18-3 from the line during a 52-38 non-league win at Harrison. Kootenai’s Hannah Nyrop had 22 points and seven rebounds.
