“Grill It,” by Chris Schlesinger

and John Willoughby (DK Publishing, 352 pages, $25)

The grilling gurus have done it again. This time, Schlesinger and Willoughby have taken their tongs traveling in search of “flavor footprints” to inspire some of the 200-plus recipes in “Grill It.” They include fare inspired by travel in Mexico, Southeast Asia, India, the West Indies and China. All the basics are covered – choosing a grill, making the fire and tips to help you decide if dinner is done – and the mouthwatering pictures will make you wish for the weekend, or at least dinner time. Besides, they make it fun. My favorite chapters are Things with Wings, Water Dwellers and On a Stick.
