Hamblen Park Presbyterian has new associate pastor

Rev. Betsey Moe has been hired as an associate pastor at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St.

Moe is a graduate of Whitworth University and the Princeton Theological Seminary. She previously worked at Wellshire Presbyterian in Denver.

Her first day at Hamblen Park will be Sunday.

The summer schedule at the church is Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Summer concerts

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will offer its summer concert series every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The concerts will be held on the lawn of the church. Concert-goers are welcome to bring blankets, chairs and picnics.

Donnie Emerson and Friends will appear Wednesday, Cool Stack will perform July 23 and Six Foot Swing will perform Aug. 6.

Vacation Bible school

Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd., will present “Loving Our Neighbors,” a vacation Bible school, every Wednesday in July from 6 to 8 p.m.

The program will include Bible stories, crafts and games for the entire family.

First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division St., will present “Hooked on Jesus,” a vacation Bible school for kids ages 5 years old through the sixth grade Monday through July 11.

The program will include study of the Beatitudes, and there will be a daily offering taken to benefit health screenings for children in Oaxaca, Mexico.
