Area quartet moves on at PNGA

Four area golfers advanced Tuesday to the match-play portion of the 107th PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland.

Amy Eneroth (11-over-par 155) of Colbert, and Mandy (161) and Haley (162) Parsons and Lauren Howell (165) of Spokane made the 32-player cutoff after two rounds of stroke play.

Defending champion Kim Shin of Mill Creek, Wash., earned the top seed by shooting 1-under 143.

Match play begins today.

•Russell Grove of Hayden qualified for match play after two rounds of stroke play at the 107th PNGA Men’s Amateur Championship at BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho.

Grove finished two rounds at even-par 140.

The top 64 golfers advanced to match play, which begins today.

Erik Flores of Grass Valley, Calif., won medalist honors by defeating 2006 medalist Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, British Columbia, with an eagle on the fourth playoff hole. Both finished at 132.
