Something new in the Whitworth District

The folks behind stellar Spokane Valley strip-mall hideaway Ambrosia Bistro and Wine Bar recently opened another upscale eatery on the outskirts of the Spokane area.

Café Neo, 10208 N. Division St., aims to offer Northwest cuisine in a modern atmosphere.

Hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Artisan and 23 become the Envy of downtown

The signage hasn’t changed, but the nightlife haven known as The Artisan Culinary Lounge and Studio 23, 515 W. Sprague Ave., recently morphed into yet another entertainment incarnation: Envy.

“We’ve packed up the bedroom and replaced it with the lounge,” partner Noel Macapagal, also of Raw Sushi and Island Grill notoriety, wrote in an e-mail announcement. “Soft seating, patio seating, and mad beats now spill into the streets.”

If you’re wondering how the Studio space can stay sexy without bedside service, you’ll have to stop by this weekend and find out.
