EWU quartet preseason picks

Four Eastern Washington University football players were selected to the 2008 Big Sky preseason team.

Quarterback Matt Nichols, wide receiver Aaron Boyce, defensive end Greg Peach and defensive tackle Lance Witherspoon were the Eagles picked to the team, which was announced Monday.

The picks were made by selected media and Big Sky sports information directors.

•Former EWU athletic administrators Scott Barnes and Kent Stanley were reunited when Barnes hired Stanley as senior associate athletics director for development at Utah State.

Stanley spent five years at EWU as an associate athletics director for development, working with Barnes who served as the director of athletics for six years. Stanley then spent two years at Fort Lewis while Barnes went to Washington as an associate AD before taking over at Utah State.
