Performers show some moves in ‘Dance’

Mike Hughes Gannett News Service

Tonight’s must-see

“So You Think You Can Dance,” 8-10 p.m., Fox. The auditions wrap up tonight, funneling more people to the next round in Las Vegas. So far, there’s been a rich variety. There are untrained street performers with amazing moves; there are highly trained dancers with lyrical grace. And there are untalented sorts from both worlds.

Tonight’s must-see II

“Pride and Prejudice” (2005), 8-11 p.m., Oxygen. Joe Wright is a miraculous director, using stunning pictures and sparse words. He did that with “Redemption” and with this film. Both were blessed with Keira Knightley, who can silently project cascades of emotion. Knightley plays Elizabeth in a family desperate to see its daughters marry. Other gifted actors – Judi Dench, Brenda Blethyn, etc. – are in support.

Other choices include

“Making News: Savannah Style” debut, 8 p.m., TV Guide Network. What’s it like to be at the bottom of the ratings pile? This interesting series follows news people at WJCL in Savannah, Ga., as they struggle with slim staffing and makeshift equipment. Substantive questions could be raised. (Instead of obsessing on the cosmetics of a live shot, couldn’t the reporters add depth?) Still, this is an elaborate look at bright people facing tough odds.

“Law & Order,” 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., NBC. In the first rerun, Green and Lupo investigate a real-estate scam; they work with an insider, played by January Jones of “Mad Men.” In the second, they probe a murder that may have racial motives.

“The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” (2008), 9-11 p.m., Lifetime. Once you get past the overwrought beginning, you’ll find a beautifully acted drama. Emily Watson is superb.
