And that’s the truth

The Spokesman-Review

My response to Terry Griner’s letter to the editor (June 3):

Are you kidding me? I, too, was lucky enough in the mid-1970s to attend two performances by Lily Tomlin, admittedly not in Spokane. She was wonderful and funny. (Thank you, Lily, for providing your strong shoulders for present-day female comedians on which to stand.)

I have great memories and have shared them with my children over the years. When I saw she was coming to Spokane, I hurriedly purchased two tickets – one for me and one for my 25-year-old daughter. If we could afford it, we’d be front row-center. What you call “poetic justice” in refusing to attend her show, I see as a 30-year-old personal grudge or hidden agenda you need to get over!
