Stabbing suspect turns self in

MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2008

The suspect in the June 3 stabbing death of a man in northeast Spokane turned himself in to detectives early Sunday, police said.

Benjamin Howard, 22, is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $1 million bond on a charge of first-degree murder in the killing of Kenneth P. Jordan, 28.

Police said Howard fatally stabbed Jordan on Tuesday after Jordan and others living at 3803 E. Frederick Ave. returned home from a bar and woke Howard’s infant. Five children were in the home at the time, police said.

After the fight, Howard, described by police as a gang member with a criminal history that included weapons and drug possession, fled the scene.
