CHENEY – The Cheney Police Department responded to the following calls May 23 – June 6.

May 23

•Police arrested May J. Briggs, 43, at the 1800 block of First Street for suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

•Joseph E. Sampson, 31, was arrested at the 200 block of north Second Street for suspicion of malicious mischief. Police said Sampson did some damage to a front door of a residence and some yard ornaments.

•Angelica Lopez, 21, was arrested for suspicion of driving with a suspended license at the 2300 block of University Lane.

•Michael L. Jenkins, 52, was arrested for suspicion of assault at the 400 block of First Street.

May 24

•Jeffery J. Wright, 20, was arrested for suspicion of driving with a suspended license at the 100 block of First Street.

•A red bike was reported stolen at the 400 block of First Street.

•There was a report of suspicious circumstances at the 800 block of Salnave. Cmdr. Rick Campbell said a neighbor heard screaming and doors slamming, but it turned out to be an argument over the phone.

•Police responded to a report of theft at the 100 block of G Street. A wallet from a purse was taken from a vehicle.

•Someone stole some beer from the Taj, 1122 First St. Campbell said the beer was recovered but the suspect was not found.

•A black bike was reported stolen at the 200 block of A Street.

May 25

•There was a report of theft at the 200 block of Betz. A car stereo, a wallet, purse and some cosmetics were taken from a vehicle.

•Justin X. Taylor, 35, was arrested at the 1300 block of First Street. The Cheney Police Department had issued the warrant for Taylor for failing to make his court appearance.

•There was a report of malicious mischief at the 200 block of Simpson Parkway. Someone had bent the antennae of a Spokane County sheriff’s patrol car.

•Some marijuana was found at the 2600 block of First Street.

•Someone found some outdoor ground lights and brought them to the Police Department.

May 26

•Police responded to a report of malicious mischief at the 800 block of Highland. Someone had damaged a new house under construction.

•Janice M. Lord, 55, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 100 block of First Street.

•Mark C. McCammon, 45, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 900 block of First Street.

May 27

•A BMX bike was found at the 1000 block of Salnave.

•Someone stole two diamond-shaped, orange signs from a construction site at the 200 block of west First Street.

•A 16-year-old male was arrested at Cheney High School for suspicion of being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Police responded to a report of domestic violence at the 1800 block of First Street. The incident was a verbal one.

•There was a report of harassment, a violation of a protection order. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

•Police responded to a report of assault at the 800 block of west First Street. Ryan R. Kelley-Williams, 22, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault. Also arrested in the incident was Deadra M. Barnett, 23, who was arrested for domestic violence assault and obstructing a police officer.

May 28

•There was a report of theft at the 300 block of Erie Street. Some DVDs, framed pictures and a camera bag were reported missing.

•A wallet was reported stolen at the 000 block of north Eighth Street.

May 29

•Paul T. King, 26, was arrested for suspicion of driving with a suspended license at the 800 block of First Street.

•Simon O. Tesfu, 19, was arrested for suspicion of possession with intent to deliver marijuana at the 000 block of Simpson Parkway.

•Kyle M. Saar, 22, was arrested for suspicion of assault and resisting arrest at the 800 block of First Street.

•Police responded to a report of malicious mischief at the 100 block of Pineview Court. Someone had smashed the window of a vehicle.

•Police helped to assist units from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, Medical Lake police, Airway Heights police and the Eastern Washington University police to help capture a suspect who had reportedly stolen a Montana National Guard recruiter’s car. Joshua D. Winkler, 18, was arrested in the incident at the 3000 block of Meadow Glen Road.

•Police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances reported at the Police Department. Campbell said it is a possible fraud case. An attorney in Oregon called someone about $11,000 in charges on a credit card.

•The school resource officer assisted Child Protective Services at Windsor Elementary School.

•A 10-year-old boy was reported as a runaway at the 800 block of west First Street. The child was returned to his home.

May 30

•Police responded to a possible probation violation at the 400 block of First Street. The case has been sent to the prosecutor.

•A wallet and purse were reported stolen at the Cheney Trading Co.

•Police responded to a report of harassment at the Ben Franklin. Some threats had been made.

•Ryan V. Wilson, 20, was arrested for suspicion of reckless driving at the 200 block of Presley Street.

•Two bikes, a red one and a yellow one, were reported stolen at the 2200 block of Marigold Circle.

•A 15-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of shoplifting some Tic-Tacs at the Taj, 1122 First St. The Tic-Tacs were recovered.

•Raymond M. Bell, 31, was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence assault at the 000 block of B Street. Bell was also arrested on an outside warrant from the Washington State Patrol.

May 31

•Denise M. Gorton, 18, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 000 block of the Cheney Spokane Road.

•There was a report of malicious mischief at the 000 block of west Second Street. A vehicle was keyed.

June 1

•Police responded to a report of discharging a weapon in the city at the 100 block of Sixth Street. Someone was shooting some BB guns.

June 2

•A purple bike was found at the 800 block of Third Street.

•A laptop computer was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 700 block of west First Street.

•Kristin N. Bell, 22 was arrested for suspicion of theft and assault at the Ben Franklin.

•A Social Security card was found at the 200 block of Presley.

•Ronald L. Ricci, 18, was arrested for suspicion of disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol and indecent exposure. Also arrested in the incident on the same charges was a 15-year-old female.

June 3

•A black bicycle was reported stolen at the 500 block of west Third Street.

•A metal hummingbird yard display was reported stolen at the 300 block of Nolan Brown Road.

•Some beer and some kegs were reported stolen at the 000 block of west First Street.

June 4

•A 12-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of assault at Salnave Elementary School.

•An iPod was reported stolen.

•Police responded to a report of unlawful issue of a bank check at Mitchell’s IGA.

•There was a report of domestic violence at the 2800 block of Al Ogdon Way. The incident was a verbal one.

June 5

•Police responded to an unlawful use of a cell phone, which was listed as a financial fraud case, at the 000 block of B Street.

June 6

•Shandon E. Pavlic, 28, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 1300 block of First Street.

•Jose M. Filemon, 22, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 200 block of Ash Street.
