COPS holds annual picnic

The annual Community Oriented Policing Services Northwest picnic will be held at Shadle Park from noon to 4 p.m. on June 21.

The event includes free food, games and music. Parents can enroll in the Family ID program, register bicycles and learn about “Block Watch.”

Park sees busy Memorial weekend

Over Memorial Day weekend, nearly 5,000 people boarded the Spokane Falls Skyride gondola, and the park took in a record for the three-day holiday of more than $100,000, according to a monthly report from the parks and recreation director.
